This design is an upgrade to the flash website that I built for Steve years ago, it is built using WordPress CMS and CSS/XHTML, this allows Steve to fully control his content, add pages, operate a blog and pretty much so anything a website is supposed to do without having to resort to hiring a designer to update the site (hang on … have i just shot myself in the foot NOOOOOOOO)

Over the next few months we will fine tune the functionality of the site, but one of the great things about WordPress is that by using the SEO and custom fields plugins, the client can effectively control their own SEO program as they have full control over the page content and the body text – the things that Google is interested in.

Job done!

This website uses Flash to allow some sophisticated multi level animation and navigation effects and styles. XML allows Glenn to easily edit all the content within the site, additionally, I have created a reduced version HTML site for IPhone/mobile access as well as a WordPress enabled blog which will eventually be modified to sell limited edition prints.

Glenn Harper is an accomplished retoucher and graphic artist who stakes some stunning landscape photographs.

This is a collaborative project with London photographer Stuart Hendry, as part of an ongoing collection of illustrative retouching projects using some of his great photography. Take a look at Stuart’s photography website and photographic blog to take a look at a collection of his advertising photography, and the blog shows a couple of images taken during the photoshoots.

In this example, I have created a collection of paintbrushes from paint splashes and then used these to ‘displace’ parts of the image, using different types of brushes can result in a very different result.

Stuart is a London based photographer who specializes in shooting people. He assisted for many years and was lucky enough to work for some amazing photographers and was able to travel the world with his job. Now shooting his own projects he is continually looking to build on his portfolio and to his client base. Keep up to date with new images on the blog as he begins his journey as a photographer.

This project requires two part to achieve the goals we want. First we optimised the pages for a variety of keyphrases, some very specific and others more general, and all the pages are validated by W3C to guarantee search engines can easily spider the pages. Once this is done we will submit the site to engines and directories to increase the Pagerank of individual pages

The new system has the advantage that the blogging platform allows the client to post all sorts of articles relating to various aspects of contract flooring work, press releases from related flooring manufacturers, flooring installation case studies, client testimonials, Brighton related business news etc … all of which can be posted onto social networks and third party press release websites resulting in more traffic and better search engine results.

I made this logo for myself, as part of a rebranding and the image has been used on my personal business cards, letterheads etc … I like using a persons initials as part of a logo for the simplicity and I think that the way you present this in a “creative” way can be quite exciting, if I were to explain the design I would say that the fire might represent the thought process and the wings might represent freedom from convention in the design process.

Or maybe I just like the way it looks, that’ll do for me …

John saved our sanity when we had reached a complete impasse with our previous designer. We needed a site that looked sharper and cleaner and, above all, was easier for us to edit – a brief that seemed impossible to fulfill after months of wrangling. John dealt with the legacy problems, sorted out the site and tutored us on how to manage it once it was up and running quickly and clearly.

We are really delighted with the result and have already had much positive feedback from current and prospective clients.
